Scope OF WORK

What we work on

We work exclusively on Series 1, 2, 2a and 3 Land Rovers (1948–85). We don't work on Counties, Perenties, Discovery models or Defenders.

We do a wide range of Series-related specialist work — from servicing and minor repairs through to engine and gearbox rebuilds, structural repairs, and patina restorations. We help maintain Melbourne's Series fleet and also take work from country Victoria and interstate.

Services undertaken

2.01 INSPECTIONS

Pre-purchase · Roadworthy baseline · Restoration baseline · Safety & maintenance

2.02 SERVICING

Major and minor services. One-hour owner sessions in the workshop.

2.03  REPAIRS

Structural, mechanical and electrical. Minor panel rectification.

2.04  Brakes, steering, suspension

System-level overhauls and upgrades. No power steering, no disc-brake conversions, no coil-spring
conversions.

2.05  ENGINE REBUILDS

1.6 · 2.0 · 2.25 petrol & diesel · 2.6 litre. No V8 or 4BD1 rebuilds at present.

2.06  Gearbox & transfer case

All variants of the standard Series gearbox and transfer case (1948–85). No LT95 rebuilds.

2.07  OTHER REBUILDS

Diff centres · steering boxes · steering relays · carburettors · fuel, oil & water pumps. Distributor
and injector pumps outsourced to trusted specialists.

2.08  ELECTRICAL

All Series electrical work, including wiring loom repair and replacement.

2.08  PATINA RESTORATIONS

Structural, mechanical and electrical integrity, with faded paintwork and minor panel
imperfections retained where practicable.

APPROACH

How we work

We work carefully and methodically, prioritising proper repairs over speed. For safety-critical systems — brakes, steering, suspension, structural work, and high-current electrical circuits — we hold uncompromising standards: we either do it right or don’t touch it. Series can be complex, and unforeseen issues often emerge as work progresses. We commit to clear, transparent communication about any complications and the options to fix them.
